SSC CHSL Exam 2016: Every year, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts combined higher secondary (10+2) exam to recruit eligible candidates for the post of Lower Division Clerk, Data Entry Operators, Postal/Sorting Assistant & Court Clerk. Required Qualification
  • Candidates must have passed 12th (10+2) or equivalent from a recognised Board.
Age Limit
  • 18-27 years as on 1st January 2017 where minimum age is 18 years and maximum age is 27 years.
Application Fee
  • Candidates (SC/ ST/ Female/ PH candidates no need to pay) have to pay fee of Rs. 100, candidates can pay application fee thru SBI challan/ net-banking/ credit or debit cards.
Reservations
  • Reservation for SC/ ST/ OBC/ Ex.S/ PH categories will be applicable as per Government rules.
SSC CHSL 2016 Selection Procedure (Includes Three Steps)

1st Step (Online Mode): Tier-1 Exam (Objective Type)
Pattern & Syllabus
  • There will be 4 parts in exam. (Part-1) General Intelligence, (Part-2) English Language, (Part-3) Quantitative Aptitude, and (Part-4) General Awareness / General Knowledge.
  • Exam will contain 100 questions for 200 marks (Each question will carry 2 marks).
  • Duration of the exam is 1 Hour and 15 Minutes.
  • Question paper will be in both langusge English & Hindi for parts: 1, 3 & 4.
  • Negative marking of 1/2 mark for each incorrect answer
2nd Step (Offline Mode): Tier-2 Exam (Descriptive Type) (100 Marks)
Pattern & Syllabus
  • Exam will be descriptive type and will be conducted offline.
  • Candidates need to write essay / letters / application writing etc.
  • Exam will carry 100 marks and exam duration will be 1 Hour.
  • Exam will have to be written either in Hindi or in English.
3rd Step: Tier-3 Skill Test / Typing Test
Pattern & Syllabus
  • Typing Test: Typing speed required 35 words per minute in English and 30 words per minute in Hindi.
  • Skill Test: Data entry speed of 8000 key depressions per hour on computer.
